			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">COMMUNIQUE</span></strong></p>
<p>CANMPASSAN has since 2007, signed a procedural agreement with the Chemical and Metallic Product Employers Federation (CANMPEF).</p>
<p>The relationship with our employers have been relatively cordial but not without the normal occasional disagreement. As stakeholders in the industry, CANMPSSAN intends to promote a partnership agenda with the employers of both the National and enterprise levels to enhance job security and productivity through social dialogue.</p>
<p>CANMPSSAN has been very assertive in the protection of jobs, rights of workers and conditions of service, when the need calls for it.</p>
<p>The Association has used the instrumentality of the Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAP) and National Industrial Court (NIC) to advance the interests of its members and in extreme cases call for a strike.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE 15<sup>TH</sup> ANNUAL NATIONAL MANAGEMENT/ INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS SEMINAR HELD AT THE BANQUET HALL OF ROYAL BIRDS MOTEL LTD. OWO AVENUE, IJAPO ESTATE AKURE, ONDO STATE. FROM 12<sup>TH</sup> TO 14<sup>TH</sup>, OCTOBER,2010.</span></strong></p>
<p><strong>INTRODUCTION</strong>:- The seminar with the Theme:- Challenging Issues in Industrial Relations In A Depressed Economy was attended by important dignitaries from labour, Government, and the Academic Sectors. Following the present economic situation of this country, a seminar of this type is very timely and relevant to combat the economic challenges for a better and improved economy.</p>
<p>1)     Human capital should be well developed then other factors employed in productivity to enhance a better economic.</p>
<p>2)     The use of adequate information is a key factor in enhancing industrial harmony.</p>
<p>3)     Implementation of Best Rewarding System in an organization is a key factor in motivating workforce to a greater level and consequently improving productivity and profitability.</p>
<p>4)     In order to generate out-standing result and build strong competitive advantage for the organization and the employee, personal and organizational goals must be aligned.</p>
<p>5)     Policies and laws concerning the economy and labour must be jointly promo gated by the government and the labour unions.</p>
<p>6)     Focus on infrastructural facilities i.e. Good Roads, Constants Electricity Supply should be made order of the day to boost the economy situation in the country as well as improving the well being of the populace.</p>
<p>7)     Leadership of the country must be made robust and ascertain commitment of all and also allow democracy to stand and be embraced.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">RECOMMENDATIONS.</span></strong></p>
<p>In solving the current issues in industrial relations facing the economy in the country, it is imperative that Government and Labour Unions should collaborate at all sphere of life and found a lasting solution to all the challenges in order to gain optimum level in productivity as well as improving the welfare of the workforce.</p>
<p>Also, human capital development is very important as such, employers are enjoined to invest in the area of training of their workforce while individual training by employees is also very crucial in order to face any current challenges in the industrial sector and the nation as a whole.</p>
